Certainly it is difficult to imagine that anyone will achieve a better strike-rate of 238 goals from 355 starts.

One of the true greats of the game and his record speaks for itself. One curiousity is the poor record the Famous Five had V Hearts. In Reillys 21 derbies only 5 were won while 14 were lost.

"Lawrie Reilly's decision to retire from football was received with regret, and we offer to him best wishes for his continued success in whichever occupation he may follow in the future."

Misc/trivia :-
Favourite game - Vs Motherwell on 27/09/1952 in Scottish League (A 7-3).
Most difficult opponent - Willie McNaught (Raith Rovers).
Latterly, ran the 'Bowler's Rest', Elbe Street, Leith.
